Kristin Lusn is the Owner and Founding Principal of Lusn Law, PLLC. With 15 years of well-rounded practical experience in many different areas of law, ranging from corporate law to litigation, Kristin is ready to handle any legal issue that comes to you and/or your business. Kristin represents corporate, start-ups and individual clients in a wide variety of matters including formation, compliance, tax. Kristin also represents tax exempt organizations in both legal issues and development consulting. Most recently, Kristin was serving her government for the past three years as an attorney for the City of Detroit practicing in both Economic Development and Criminal Enforcement, as well as participating on Task Forces for Mayor Duggan's Administration. With the skills learned and relationships forged in this role, Kristin is additionally specializing in Governmental Affairs for issues with the state, county, and the City.
Kristin is active in professional organizations as well as the community. Kristin has been selected by those in her industry as a Rising Star in Super Lawyers, and as a dBusiness Top Lawyer. She was honored with the “Community Impact Award” by the Detroit Metropolitan Bar Association and the Civic Leadership award by the Twilight Foundation.
Kristin’s past community activities include serving the Detroit Historical Society as a trustee and founding member of the young professional “313” auxiliary, the Detroit Institute of Arts Founder’s Junior Council as a board member, the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy as a committee member.
She currently is the founding chairperson of the Detroit RiverFront Conservancy's “Riviere28," a board member of the Michigan Humane Society, advisory board member of Write a House, as well as on the committee for the Emerging Collectors at the Detroit Institute of Arts.
Kristin has a passion for Detroit and helping make the city and its surrounding areas thrive with business, nonprofit, and economic growth.
Kristin graduated with honors from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Arts from the Eli Broad School of Business and Management, and is a Dean King Scholarship recipient and graduate from Michigan State University College of Law, with a concentration in Corporate Law and earning a certificate in Trial Practice.

Kristin has been helping corporations, small businesses and start-up clients for her entire career. From formation, to partnership and investor agreements, to employment agreements and handbooks and other forms of compliance and contracts, we are able to solve any legal situations, and more importantly, prevent costly situations down the lifecycle of the business in the future.
GOVERNMENTAL AFFAIRS
From volunteering on various local political campaigns from Oakland to Wayne County, to practicing as an attorney for the City of Detroit, Kristin has a vast understanding of how government operates and how to navigate the often confusing process. She initially served in the Transactional and Economic Development team, working on real estate development projects, then became one of the attorneys for the Detroit Zoning Board, Detroit Historic Commission, as well as the attorney for the Department of Administrative Hearings. She also completed the criminal Business License ticket docket for a period of time, and led the Show Cause Business License Revocation process. For the Mayor's Office, she worked on the Income Tax Task Force, as well as the Commercial Blight Corridor Project, and was selected for and completed the Lean Greenbelt training in order to help streamline the Blight Enforcement process. Given the breadth of her government experiences and deep knowledge of the Detroit City Code and Charter, she is poised to help your business interact with the City and County most efficiently, as well as the State of Michigan.
LITIGATION
At Michigan State College of Law, Kristin was selected for the competitive Trial Practice Institute, learning essential criminal and civil trial skills. After law school and passing the bar exam, Kristin accepted a job in medical legal field of Worker's Compensation and Employment Litigation. After several years of success and accolades in this field, including being the youngest person elected to serve on the State Bar of Michigan's Worker's Compensation Council lobbying for legislative change, Kristin began branching out into other litigation areas such as real estate, contract disputes, and other litigation needs that affect business owners. Kristin has the unique experience in and out of the courtroom and can look at legal issues from both an efficient as well as litigation prevention viewpoint.
